Meghann Mason

Wig and Makeup Supervisor

Meghann Mason first started out in the entertainment industry as a performer. Earning her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston, she began to learn the trade of Theatre and Film. While in school, Meghann made extra money dressing wigs, running shows as a wig attendant, and by managing the costume rentals department for the University. Finding that she had a natural talent for Makeup and Wigs, once graduated from UH, her next move was to Los Angeles to attend The Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts and also to pursue acting. The Academy, with its historical reputation, allowed Meghann to learn trade secrets while networking with some of the up-and-coming artists in Hollywood. It also allowed her to see how important a background as a performer was to a career as a Makeup Artist. They are forever intertwined, and her understanding of both only made her more well-rounded as an artist.

After a busy freelance career in Los Angeles, Meghann returned to the University of Houston to continue her education in Graduate studies–this time focusing on costume history and design. In the middle of her Graduate career, she was offered a position as a wig technician for the world-famous Cirque du Soleil. While working at KA for Cirque du Soleil, Meghann finished her Master of Arts degree at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In her spare time, she continued to work in her freelance career, covering Film, Theatre, Special Events, Workshops, and more. Meghann has also started a school for Wigs and Makeup with her colleague and friend! Meghann is currently the Wig and Makeup Supervisor for the Houston Ballet.
