Susan Sampliner
Susan Sampliner is currently the company manager for the Broadway production of Wicked, with which she has been associated since it started rehearsals in March 2003. She also spent 4 months in London helping to set up the UK production of Wicked. Before that, she was company manager and associate general manager of the Broadway production of The Graduate at the Plymouth Theatre. She has been company managing for almost forty years, dividing her time between the commercial and not-for-profit theater in New York, both on and off Broadway. She has been company manager for shows from A Chorus Line to Lily Tomlin’s Search For Signs… and was the associate general manager for Grease, Chicago and Damn Yankees, as well as for the New York Shakespeare Festival for four years. Susan is a graduate of Brown University (BA with honors, Classics) and holds a certificate in arts management from SUNY Purchase, where she taught Company Management as an adjunct professor. She has been a member of ATPAM since 1986, and is a former member of the Board of Governors. Since 2008, she has been the co-chair of the Broadway Green Alliance, an industry-wide initiative that educates, motivates and inspires the theater community and its patrons to adopt environmentally-friendlier practices.
